10 Week - Beginner


This training plan is ideal for those athletes who don’t have a great deal of experience riding their bike, who ride their bike only a few times per week or who don’t have a great deal of time to ride. This plan will help maximize your limited ride time, and can be used regardless of which distance you plan to ride.

This plan will include 4 rides per week. 2 of the rides will be “quality” rides which will challenge your legs and lungs, and 1 will be a longer endurance ride. The other ride will be an easier, recovery-type ride.

If you ride 3 days per week, you’ll ride the 2 quality and 1 long ride per week, and will not perform the easy ride. If you ride more than 4 days per week, you have several options:

1. Add another relatively easy ride to those listed on the schedule.

2. Purchase the “Assisted” training plan. By purchasing this plan, you have a phone consultation with Coach Bob as well as email support. So you can use Coach Bob to help you with any minor tweaks necessary.

3. You could work with Coach Bob on a 1-to-1 basis if you need assistance with your schedule, or if you want to really make the most of your time and take yourself to the “next level.”

4. Or, you could purchase the “Intermediate” training plan, which includes six rides per week.
